Owyn has been passionate about mental health and well-being since her teen years, which naturally lead her to a career as a psychotherapist. Owyn completed an undergraduate degree in psychology and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counselling through Niagara University. As a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), Owyn has strong working knowledge of evidenced-based treatment modalities and is able to tailor treatment plans to address each person’s unique needs. Through a trauma informed lens, Owyn supports clients in understanding connections between their past and their present, which creates space for change for the future. Owyn is a compassionate advocate for the people she works with and provides client-centred support to promote healing in all areas of functioning.
Owyn’s areas of interest include interpersonal relationships, trauma, symptom management (stress, anxiety, depression), self-esteem, life transitions, and parenting strategies. Owyn values the importance of the therapeutic relationship and offers a warm, welcoming environment. She looks forward to meeting you!
When practicing self-care, you can find Owyn hiking the Bruce Trail, spending time with her family and friends, and seeking out the best pasta and taco dishes in town.
