Male Fertility Acupuncture

Male Fertility Acupuncture2022-01-10T21:25:03-05:00

Did you know that up to 50% of fertility issues are due to male factors or sperm health? This includes poor sperm concentration, poor motility or movement, poor morphology or sperm shape, DNA fragmentation and other unknown or idiopathic causes. It often takes men much longer to explore their reproductive health with an easy to access semen analysis, leaving couples frustrated and without answers.

I believe strongly in treating both the female and male partner when it comes to having a baby. With men, our environment (including diet and toxic exposure), our physical health (including exercise, sleep, immunity) and our mental health (including stress) can all play a role in our reproductive and sperm health.

To improve sperm quality, I work closely with men to make sure dietary and lifestyle issues are being addressed and any necessary supplements are being taken. I provide an extensive treatment plan that outlines what foods to eat, how to exercise, how best to get a good night’s sleep, what to avoid in your environment and other important routines and habits that can improve male fertility – including regular acupuncture treatment.

How does the treatment look like?

Acupuncture therapy for sperm health requires 10-12 treatments over the course of 6-12 weeks. Twice weekly for 6 weeks, or weekly treatments for 12 weeks. Included in a course of treatment is accountability for necessary dietary and lifestyle adjustments.

Also addressed in treatment: stress and mental health, digestive health, pain (acute or chronic), sleep quality and more.

The first step is realizing that things can change for the better – as long as you are willing to make some changes!
