Food Insulin Demand Calculator

Food Insulin Demand Calculator2024-04-24T13:13:31-04:00

The food insulin demand calculator is available as an extension of the research of Dr. Suzzane Holt and Dr. Kirstine Bell. This research allowed us to understand how food affects insulin, the hormone that influences weight loss, hormonal health, inflammation, blood sugar balance and much more. Below you will find an approximation of your meal’s insulin demand. Please keep in mind that following the system provided to you by Dr. Sarah, ie eating a combination of whole foods, is still the best option and will provide a more reliable points count than processed foods. That being said, packaged foods happen and so this calculator is here to help!

You will notice that red meat, dairy and high fat/high sugar foods have a modified calculation. This is because the amino acids that make up dairy and red meat have a stronger insulin stimulation. The same is true when fats and sugars are processed together (ie baked goods, croissants, deep fried foods).

Enjoy!
