Move with strength, confidence, and ease with chiropractor‑led Clinical Pilates at Advanced Women’s Health
Clinical Pilates at AWH is chiropractor‑led and begins with a proper clinical assessment. Using Pilates‑based movements and targeted exercise, we focus on improving strength, mobility, core control, and body awareness through personalized, evidence‑informed programming. Sessions are delivered by a licensed chiropractor and are eligible under chiropractic benefits.
What is Clinical Pilates?
Clinical Pilates blends the principles of Pilates with clinical assessment and rehab. At AWH, your chiropractor designs a program that supports your goals and daily life — whether you’re rebuilding after injury, managing pain, preparing for birth, recovering postpartum, or simply wanting to move and feel better.
Your plan may include:
- Foundational breath and core coordination strategies (e.g., rib‑to‑hip breathing, deep core activation, and pelvic tilting)
- Mobility and stability training for the spine, hips, and shoulders
- Progressive strength and balance work tailored to your body and stage of life
- Education and movement strategies you can use at home and between visits
Why people choose Clinical Pilates: Better posture, improved core control, reduced stiffness and discomfort, and more confidence in day‑to‑day movement.
How Clinical Pilates and Chiropractic Work Together
Chiropractic care and Clinical Pilates go hand‑in‑hand. Hands‑on care (mobilizations, soft tissue work, gentle adjustments) helps restore mobility and settle irritation. Clinical Pilates then builds the strength, stability, and coordination that maintains and builds on those improvements between visits.

FAQs
Is this the same as a regular Pilates class?
Not quite. Group classes are great, but they’re not customized. Clinical Pilates is 1‑on‑1, assessment‑driven, and adjusted to your body, goals, and stage of life. These sessions are facilitated by a licensed chiropractor who is highly trained in movement assessment, injury management, and rehabilitation, ensuring that every exercise is tailored and modified to you.
Do I need Pilates experience?
No. We start with foundations and build from there, but if you already have Pilates experience, we can progress from wherever your baseline is.
Is Clinical Pilates safe during pregnancy and postpartum?
Yes — it’s an excellent option. We tailor breath, core strategies, and exercise selection to your trimester or stage of recovery and your individual needs. Pilates is a great low‑force way to stay active during pregnancy and to get back into movement postpartum.
What should I wear and bring?
Wear comfortable clothing you can move in. If you use a support (e.g., belly band, pelvic belt), bring it along. Bring water to stay hydrated. If you have a preferred mat or Pilates equipment, feel free to bring it with you — otherwise, we have all the equipment you’ll need at our clinic!
How many sessions will I need?
It varies based on goals and symptoms. Many people begin with weekly or bi‑weekly sessions for 3–6 visits, then transition to less frequent check‑ins as you build independence with your program.
Is it covered by my benefits?
Yes. Sessions are delivered by a chiropractor and billed under chiropractic services. Check your plan for details.
